Bagasse fibre is derived from residual fibers left from sugar production, commonly known as bagasse. Tonchant’s bagasse fibre products have a natural look with a sturdy paper-like texture. They recommend the products to be stored at room temperature or between 60-73°F, away from direct sunlight, in a cool and dry place. They are microwave safe and have a temperature resistance of 200°F up to 20 minutes. It can be composted at home under the ideal composting conditions or sent to commercial composting facilities. They are environmentally friendly and are100% compostable, unlike their Styrofoam or plastic counterparts.

Bagasse fibre can be used with hot or cold foods. It is not recommended for serving soup-based food or food with high moisture and or oil content as most containers do not have water-resistant coating. There are specific bagasse fibre products that have PLA coating.
Caution: Hot food and food with high moisture content may cause condensation to form at the bottom of the base.
